„OBSERVATION OF INTRINSIC SPIN-ORBIT INTERACTION OF
LIGHT IN FEW-MODE OPTICAL FIBER”

Abstract of the lecture:
There has been substantial interest in developing methods for
utilization of optical fiber transverse spatial modes carrying intrinsic orbital angular momentum. For all such modes, interaction between spin and intrinsic orbital angular momentum gives rise to a fine structure for the modal phase velocities. We report direct experimental measurement of this structure in a straight fiber and discuss its relationship to stable spatial mode transmission.
